Location
Highgate Village was part of the Bishop of London's hunting grounds in medieval times and entry to this once densely wooded hilltop was via a guarded gate leading to the name of Highgate.

Highgate Boys School, which occupies a central site in the village, is one of London's oldest and most distinguished boys' public schools.
